    What is a Knee Brace?

A knee brace is a specialised orthopaedic solution for support and relief of diverse knee conditions. At OPC Health, healthcare professionals can explore our tailored knee brace categories:

When should I use a Knee Brace?

A knee brace may be used as a preventative or treatment option. Many individuals may choose to use a brace to prevent injuries especially when there has been a history of knee issues. Others may require a brace to support the joint as ligament and other soft tissue structures heal.

    Do Knee Braces really help?

Yes, knee braces can be effective for common knee injuries and issues, providing support and relief. They are beneficial for addressing sprains, strains, patellar instability, post-surgery rehabilitation, and osteoarthritis. While results may vary, many individuals find knee braces helpful in reducing pain and promoting healing.

How does a Knee Sleeve work?

Knee Sleeves work by applying mild compression and stability to the joint. The compression aspect helps to stabilise the knee joint and reduces swelling. This promotes good blood flow which can aid the healing process.

Which Knee Brace is right for me?

Healthcare providers, such as Orthotists, Physiotherapists, or GPs, assess patient profiles to determine the most appropriate knee brace.

How long should I wear a Knee Brace?

The duration of wear depends on a variety of factors. Patient goals will greatly affect this. Individuals who wear a Knee Sleeve for prevention may only need to wear it during physical activity whereas individuals who require a Knee Brace for treatment of an injury may need to wear it until healed.

How do I put on a Knee Brace?

To put on a knee brace:

    1. Ensure a clean, dry knee and brace.
    2. Slide the brace up, aligning it with your kneecap.
    3. Secure straps (where applicable) from bottom to top, snug but not too tight.
    4. Check for comfort and adjust as needed.
    5. Bend and straighten your knee to ensure mobility.
    6. Double-check all closures for a secure fit.

Refer to the specific instructions provided with your brace and consult a healthcare professional if needed.

    Which Knee Brace for Osteoarthritis?

To find the ideal knee brace for osteoarthritis relief, explore our carefully curated collection in the Osteo-Arthritis Braces category. These braces are crafted to specifically address the unique challenges of osteoarthritis, providing targeted support and promoting joint health.

How do I take care of my Knee Brace?

Most braces are made of soft fabric that can be hand washed with soapy water. Some will be machine washable but please check care instructions.
